my recommendation would be to do this on paper and only one sketch per page. the center drawing is my favorite because it's got the energy and attitude along with shapes that overlap and work great together.
you may have heard Glen Keane's story about sketching: he showed Eric Larson his sketches and Eric picked ONE drawing out of many gestures he had. Eric told him draw like that. So Glen went out and filled 10 sketchbooks, 100 pages each and brought them back in a week. Eric was impressed but only chose 10 drawings per book that he liked.

Thanks Dave! I actually did all of these on paper then collaged them together in photoshop and shaded them a little. haha.
