The Godfather Opening (Practice) Portlynn

Hey Dave!
Just thought i'de post some more studies.I made a list of films i wanted to watch this week and study from. Yesterday was "The Godfather" and today is "Raging Bull".
The rest of the week i plan on watching...

Lawrence of Arabia
Rear Window
Sunset BLVD.
Psycho
&
Dr. Strangelove

I plan on choosing scenes that i like from each film and doing them as boarding practice. Yeah i know, just the typical stuff to do for practice, but i just thought i would give you a heads up.

But. Here's the opening scene form Godfather. I know the last practice i did was an opening, but i really, really love the entire first 25 minutes of this movie, i thinks it's so perfect i wanted to re board the whole thing but i only had a time yesterday to do this one. if i have time i'll go back and board some more from the rest of the film, i found a couple of really great scenes that i wanted to do.

Amanda- Story Cardio

Dave-  I have no idea if I even did this right.  I feel like I fell into old habits or something.  I feel this is off, but I don't know why.  I consciously tried to remember things like composition, the 180 rule, etc.

I tried to set up the premise as being kind of ridiculous from the get-go, but I feel like my flag pole joke comes off as stale.  I will take anything you can give me.  Thanks for your time.

Story Cardio_002, Portlynn Tagavi (Gave it another go)

Hey Dave!!! I did the assignment again, this time a stayed within the time limits and i stuck to the guidelines. Last time i forgot about the character wanting something from the other, but not this time!!! i made sure.

So here it is. I choose Dracula and Dog at the Park. The Dog wants Dracula's Blood Sausage. I did it in 3 hours and i tried to make it clearer than the last one. I hope it succeeded!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

louise story cardio

Here's my cardio! I went a little over 90 panels and did it in about an hour so I think next time I'll try to plan better.

...I think the first set of thumbnails can get cut and just go straight from a little tennis ball hitting to the dog introduction faster. But I learned a lot! And it was a nice exercise to refresh my mind after our internship assignment this week. Thanks, Dave!

Story Cardio_001, Portlynn Tagavi

Hey Guys!!! I did one for the Story Cardio. I will not lie, i did this in 4 hours not 3, it proved to be a real challenge. I plan on doing one or two more (different stories) soon that are in the actual time limit, but i felt that this was worth putting up anyway.  I had a lot of fun with this, and i'm excited to work on some more stories for the other combinations!

This is a Romance kind of...
I chose Circus Performer, and Rodeo Cowboy at an Amusement Park (made most sense...).

I hope it's clear. I had a lot of fun trying to create suspense with the shot cutting, but i'm wondering if that worked or if there is another way i could have created suspense.

I also feel that my shot variation was weak, and that my attention to where the characters where on screen made for some confusing moments, tell me if you agree, or if it reads fine to you?

Ok... DO YOU WORST...
